Guangzhou Is My Hometown
The statue is made of five goats. One of goats stands in the center and holds a spike of rice in the mouth. This is the standard sigh of Guangzhou. Guangzhou is also called Goat-City because of this five-goats-statue. There is also a legend about the building-- Long time ago, there isn't enough in this place, and plenty of people died in famine. One of the gods realized disaster and let five of his pets, goats, go give the seeds of rice to the poor people, and exhorted people to plant it on the ground. People did what the god told them to do and got great harvest and did not need bear damage of the famine. The five goats also became stones and guard people and became people's praying object as well.
My first language is Cantonese, it is also the particular language for Guangzhou, but government is hindering its developing recently. ( There are some characters and a sentence from Cantonese in the pictures)
Guangzhou locates in the south of China and is also third city of China. People know about Beijing and Shanghai but my hometown Guangzhou. Guangzhou is also a fantastic choice if you are looking for a Chinese place to visit.
