Between Two Countries by Shadan

My poster is explaining that I am between two countries and that was clear by putting a picture of me from my childhood in Iraq , the country I was born in and a picture of me in high school in the country that I had recently moved to, America, at the center of the poster.

In my poster, I am showing the popular people in Iraq and the popular people in the United States. These people are singers, supermodels, beauty pageants, and politically strong women. In Iraq, these popular people are icons. They were used to be my motivation to work harder  to be successful like them one day. However, when I moved to the United States, I found my new American icons. Although, I found my new role models, I will never forget about the old ones. That is why I am  between the two countries.

I also show how my home looked like in Baghdad and how it looks like now. Furthermore, I show the most delicious and popular food in Iraq, which is Dulma. I also show the Iraqi tea and how it must be served. On the other hand, I show the American Thanks Giving meal, which is turkey , and the American Starbucks coffee.

When we moved to the United States, we kept cooking Iraqi food and drank tea the Iraqi way, but we also started adopting the lifestyle in the new country because we started mingling with people  from  America..

In conclusion, even if I live in a new country, I will always be anchored to my culture because it is the culture I opened my eyes into.
