The King's Speech

This story is about how King George VI treats stammer, according to the British history. It is based on a true story. This is a Biographical film and the movie setting in London, England. Colin Forth plays George VI, and he has severe stammer. Geoffrey Rush plays Lionel Logue, he treats King George’ stammer. Colin Forth won the 83rd best actor annual Academy Award.

I like this movie in general because is a very good story. Also, the movie is very influential. The main actor is very persevering through, his hard work in training of continuous progress. Finally, he did a great job. I think the actors and director all did a good job. The actors put their whole emotions in the role, and director’s organization is very great. Consequently, the movie won the annual Academy Award. The movie presents already the best. I like every aspect.  

War Horse

      War Horse is a wonderful movie directed by the Steven Spielberg. It adapted by the novel. it got a lot of awards in 2011 and 2012. The actor not only is a very handsome guy, but also is a super actor. I like him very much. I like the horse named Joey too. He is so cute. The movie is talking about the relationship of them. it is one of the most  heartwarming movie in the world. if you plan to watch it, you have better to prepare a lot of tissue. I like the plot when Albert's father sold the Joey(the horse) to a guy, and then Albert said "Wherever you are, I will find you and I will bring you home." in that time, i was in tears absolutely broken down crying my eyes out. in the movie, Albert do his best to see Joey again. i admire him, because he could keep promise even in the war. in a word, War Horse is a wonderful movie in 2011. if you have time, i recommend you to watch it.

Titanic

          Last week, I saw this movie review form youtube. I saw many fragments in Titanic, because I was watching this movie before 10 years. I want to tell you, this is a good movie. In Titanic, you could see when disaster come people manifest' pain, fear and helplessness.

This year is Titanic sink 100th anniversary. Director James Francis Cameron change the Titanic for 3D. James Francis Cameron is a first person make 3D movies. Before he screen Titanic in 1997 years. This movie talk about Titanic bound for America hit an iceberg, and Titanic was sink.

          Jack and rose were Titanic' characters. They had different identity and status. They met in Titanic and love. Rose' mother did not agree them contacts. Rose's fiance started with a vengeance. Until the Titanic was sink, they did not separate. Jack wanted to save Rose, but Jack was frozen to death in the sea.

Another import in Titanic was Jack and Rose falled into the icy waters, Jack found a door, the door just only beard one person's weight. Jack let Rose used that door without hiself. When their physical reached the limits, Jack wanted Rose promised to live with brave, and then, Jack was dead in the icy water. Rose wanted dead with Jack, but she reminded that promised, and then, she used the whistle attracted the rescue's people. Finally, Rose was rescued.

         This is a very good movie for whole parts. First, Titanic wreck is the real thing. But this plot of the story was fictional. Unfortunately, in this story ending was very sad. Rose never lost Jack. After that time, Rose needs to brace with her life. But I think, this memory is eternal for Rose, and Jack is always buried in her heart.

West Side Story movie review 1

West Side Story  was the best picture of 1961 and won 10 Academy Awards.It was the kind of musical people tough  was good for them, a pious expression of admirable but unrealistic liberal sentime3nts,and certainly.It is street gangs at was on Puerto Rican ,on the descendants of European immigrants  seen touching innocent compared to contemporary reality.

I'am loosing my identity

When I came to the US,almost 6 years ago, I told to myself that I will never be influce by American culture.

 In my first 3 years it was ok ;I remembered wearing my African cloves in summer or dresse like normal persone. Ididn't care about who was looking at me me at the time, I felt like I was selling my culture. In constrast the last couple were  suprising . I spent alot of money in cloves,shoes. Nowerday I can not say that I still African 100% .I fill like I 'am loosing my cultural Identity from salad boll I 'am dicovering myself in meltting pot.

There are many identities between countries, for example different festivals. The mid-autumn festival is very popular in China. People would have some special moon cakes in the moon festival. I used to listen some interesting stories about Chang E who is the moon goddess living in the moon with the moon rabbit. I’m so curious about her looks, for many mystical legends about her. I had a mid-autumn festival in the US last year, and it was pretty interesting. People were eating moon cakes, even Americans. Nowadays, a lot of Chinese are celebrate for Christmas also. They are buying some Christmas trees for decoration, and putting some colorful lights around the house. The culture exchanges all the time. I have some special emotions about that seeing some Chinese traditional festivals celebrate in the US. It’s happens to many countries. As what I learned in the pop-culture class, It’s like a melting  pot and a salad bowl.

Culture ID

I learned in this unit that everyone has his own Cultural Identity. When someone decides to live in another country, they normally bring and try keeping his original culture with them. People are extremely stereotype with foreign people want to live in their country. I think the most important thing is keep your culture in your family. Teach every generation about your family costumes. I read an essay in the class about a girl who has a Middle East last name Ali. She and her family is victim of stereotype just because of their last name. She was born in United States. She considers herself an American girl. No matter what she does, every time when a teacher calls her in the school, all of her friends think she is a crazy religious girl and an H-bomb that will explode the school any time. We have a lot to learn with another culture. I like live in a salad bowl country.

The cultural identity around us. "People like us" talk about Americas diversity. this reading shows many examples of how America is still segment by choice. Different status live different place. Hvae some examples show Black tend to live in the same neighbour hood by class and being low income. This reading show me the real life in America. And let me know more about America diversity.

I learned an attitude about Cultural Diversity through this unit. The world is getting changing. Many people can experience other countries culture through Internet, travel. No longer do people be restricted by geographical conditions. For example, each country is active in other countries. Korea Town, China Town, Greek Town, and etc., they keep their own culture, are mixed by other culture. It is called Salad Bowl. Now, people are demanded by globalization that people should respect and admit difference other culture. Anyone must not evaluate as only one measuring stick because other culture value is worthy as my country’s culture.

I think that the most important things caught my eyes is how the girl and her sisters wanted to be more American, after I read the article 'Miss American'. Due to the article, some people was settled down America, and they wanted to fit in American lifestyle. Such as, dress up, become housewives and so on. Actully, most of people can't fit in their surrounding.What I learned from this unit about cultural identity is that no matter who you are, if you work hard and became the best one you can be you can reach any goal in life.
